Wow! Got to meet my godmother this week and she sure is sweet and pretty. She took great care of me as we went to the beach for Fourth of July. She took me strolling every morning for coffee. Well, Mommy and Nanny Alyssa drank Iced Mocha Javas. I drank non-mocha Enfamil. Funny that they do not taste the same. They also took me strolling along the River Walk. Downtown Wilmington is really nice. Mommy and Daddy hope to buy a condo down here one of these days (or years)!
We had a lot of fun in Wilmington. We did a day at the beach -- the sky was overcast and despite a floppy sun hat and umbrella, I still managed to get a little pink on my cheeks. But, it faded to a nice tan the next day.
We also got to visit filming of the tv-show One Tree Hill on location. Nanny Alyssa was an extra in three scenes. Unfortunately, I had to take a nap about the same time that the stars were breaking for lunch, so no pics of the cast this time. Oh well.
Speaking of naps, Daddy fashioned a cool sleep spot for me in a drawer at the condo where we stayed. They call this picture "Jack in the Box."
Once we got back from Wilmington, we had a new guest -- Uncle Alfred -- waiting to see me! He hugged me and tried to throw me up in the air, but Mommy made sure he didn't toss me too hard. He came up to take Alyssa to UNC, where she is considering going for graduate school. She really loved the campus and will hopefully be back next spring to live in North Carolina full time (or, at least we can hope!)
Uncle Alfred sure is a work horse. Mommy put him to work trying to find drapes for our living room, now that we have a new sleeper sofa. With all the guests coming to visit me, we thought it was about time we had some privacy with the big front window. Uncle Alfred not only bought the curtain, he and Alyssa hung them up. I, of course, supervised to make sure they were level and kept the sun out of my eyes. He also helped Mommy build the banana tree for the jungle theme in my nursery and even put together a couple of patio chairs.
We spent our last day visiting and hitting some pottery places before they had to fly home. It's great seeing family and can't wait until we can all be together again. Hope to make a trip down to Louisiana one of these days to see everyone!
